I've been using a new skincare range that's dutifully made with high spec hand selected ingredients yet made and packaged all in London. Aybury launched last year by David Murphy who was searching for the perfect balance of unisex grooming with an 'apothecary' feel, he came up with the idea after trying to find the perfect blend of fragrance oils for his bathroom and home and Aybury was born. The RETICENT range has a unique botanical scent which allows you to relax whilst everyday cleansing, and if you're an aesthete like me, then the first thing you notice straight away is the packaging. We all love a good package right? It HAS to look good in the bathroom as well as do the job and RETICENT blends in perfect harmony with Byredo, Aesop, Buly - also great cleansing, grooming, scents and home fragrance products which tie into the modern city dweller's discerning attitude. It's got that. I have been using the body wash for a few weeks now and I find it's perfect after an intense workout after the gym. It's gentle on the skin and leaves a lovely lingering scent that invokes memory and calm. My skin can get quite dry during the autumn and winter months so a I tend to mix the body moisturiser with natural cold pressed coconut oil. I have to say, I love combining light natural moisturisers with natural and aromatic oils as it adds more hydration to the skin, so this is perfection. Which begs the question: When are they going to launch candles and room scents?
I have no doubt that this is one of those little gems that I will enjoy for a while before the 'hype' kicks in and absolutely every one wants to get their mitts on. But that's OK with me because there's nothing better than supporting locally made high spec products in the UK.
