You can never go wrong with make-up classics. For me, laying the foundation with a signature scent and a mirror compact or translucent powder is the way to go. Followed by a neutral lipstick. I like to keep things simple and I am definitely more of a skincare person than a make-up girl so that's fine with me. The best thing I discovered for myself in my early 20s is a signature scent. YES, a signature scent. This leaves an overall lasting impression as it engages the nasal senses. Whether it's a first date or a job interview, the quality of your scent can such an impression and almost define who you are at that moment- if you choose well. I prefer unisex scents because it fits closer to my personality. I adore deep, complicated, multi-layered, clean, woody and spicy scents in eau de parfum or oil form, rarely in Eau de Toilette form. My absolute fav is the Ambre Nuit by Christian Dior. A boutique exclusive scent which is in fact a unisex fragrance. It's base is Amber which my nose has a knack for sniffing out.My second favourite belongs to the entire Frederic Malle collection and in particular: Lipstick Rose. This scent is unforgivably feminine and strong, which again, I love. I guess you could say I want my fragrance to make a very strong statement about me. Finally, for my everyday scent I use Chanel's recent addition: 1932 which is the only Eau de Toilette I use at the moment. 1932 Is the year Coco Chanel released her fine jewellery collection called "Bijoux de Diaments", which is why the smell is so distinctive yet delicate. 1932 is also part of Chanel's boutique so head over to www.chanel.com for where to buy or discover the other scents within the collection.
